The construction events of this part of city give us nowadays a city portion characterized by green areas and buildings with different form and typology that are in functional relation between each other but not included in a rational urban drawing. The main goals to get the new symbolic and representative unit of the WHO are the redesign of the surrounding green area and the aesthetics revaluation of the historical building of Jean Tschumi and Pierre Bonnard. The project gives to the new building a stylistics and typological uniqueness preserving the relation with the historical building. The project consider all buildings (old e new building) as a unique project, with the goal of re-build and re-order the entire complex of the new WHO headquarters. A sequence of functional spaces is articulated around a "porch” and interior patio, in this way the project define a new system of connection and relationship between the historic building and the green surrounding area. A green cover replaces the ground of the garden subtracted for the insertion of the new volumes and, at the same time, offers a multi-purpose outdoor area.
